The handover was attended by our long-standing partner Reform, represented by Hans-Werner Wolf, and its dealer “Unser Lagerhaus,” represented by Hannes Jenewein. Angelo Caccese attended on behalf of Rapid, personally presenting the anniversary hay rake and marking the machine with a special anniversary sticker. A gift basket, champagne, and giveaways rounded off the celebration.
A young company puts its faith in Rapid
The anniversary machine went to Matthias and Sabrina Mayr, who have been working as service providers in mountain farming for over five years. With their Rapid single-axle machines, they carry out tasks such as mowing, twisting, and mulching—and consistently rely on multifunctionality and quality.
“It's impressive that Rapid has already sold 5,000 hay rakes. This shows that it is a quality product that delivers. We are proud to be part of this success story,” said Matthias Mayr at the handover.
From the first mulching jobs to a versatile fleet of machines
The business started out with mulching work – also with a Rapid single-axle machine. “Many farmers no longer own their own motor mowers. Because we already had the basic equipment for mulching, it was obvious for us to expand our range to include mowing and twisting,” reports Mayr.
Today, the Mayrs have three Rapid motor mowers – MONTA, VAREA, and ORBITO – as well as a wide range of attachments: flail mowers, wide-track mowers, multi-twisters, and now also the hay rake twister. “The Rapid machines are extremely multifunctional. Above all, the ease with which the attachments can be attached and changed impresses us in daily use.”
Making work easier in extreme situations
The decision to use the hay rake twister was a logical step for the Mayrs. The multi-twister had already proven itself in use with agricultural customers. But the hay rake is unbeatable, especially on extremely steep slopes: "Where the multi-twister reaches its limits, the hay rake twister shows its strengths to the full. That's exactly where it's the right solution."
In addition to its suitability for slopes, its enormous efficiency was particularly impressive. “With the hay rake Twister, we can cover a hectare in around 1.5 hours. Doing this manually with 10 people would probably take a whole day. This time saving is crucial for us and our customers.”
Safety and efficiency go hand in hand
Safety also plays a central role for the business. With a weight of only 110 kg, the Twister is particularly light and easy to handle – a decisive advantage on steep terrain. “The low weight prevents slipping on slopes. At the same time, the Twister replaces laborious manual work and makes it possible for one person to do the job alone,” says Mayr.
A symbol of the future and innovation
With the delivery of the 5,000th hay tedder twister, Rapid is sending a strong message: the attachment has become firmly established in mountain farming and is now indispensable for many farms.
“The hay rake twister makes work much easier, saves time, and ensures safety. For us, it is a real asset,” summarizes Matthias Mayr.
For Rapid, this anniversary success is an incentive to consistently drive forward the development of innovative solutions for mountain farming—and thus make work on steep terrain easier, safer, and more efficient.
